The Fording River Subdivision provides access to 4 coal mines in southeastern British Columbia and has 2 sections of CTC. The first is at Sparwood where the Fording River Sub meets up with the Cranbrook Sub. The second is closer to the northern end of the line beginning at Keevil South and extending to Fording.
The 4 mines are located at Elkview, Line Creek, Greenhills, and Fording.
